User Success Stories
CTG Audio offers to participate in each project our microphones and other system offerings are used in. Audio is our specialty and we love to assist in optimizing the sound quality. The success stories below are representative of projects where CTG participated in the design and the resulting performance delighted the customer.
Boeing Aircraft – Seattle
The Challenge
Boeing has several training rooms on their campus in Seattle (60,000 Employees) where they conducted training via audio and video teleconferencing. These sessions are interactive with involvement of all participants. The rooms were of varying and sizes and composition.
They were seeking full room microphone coverage in combination with an unobtrusive environment.
In addition, they wanted a solution that would minimize any noise coming from ceiling HVAC systems.
CTG Approach
CTG suggested they install one of the rooms with CTG’s ceiling microphones. With a survey of the room CTG provided a recommended layout for the microphones with the objective of covering the entire room.
Peter, Information Technology Director for the Northwest, agreed to this and the room was installed as designed.
The room selected was particularly challenging as it was dual purpose serving both as a training and dining facility. Flush mounted ceiling microphones were a good fit as the air from the AC vents did not blow directly over the microphones. In additions table noise was minimized as there was no conductive noise from the tables. A full range of benefits from the ceiling system was realized to include:
- Freedom to move around the room with no compromise in audio quality.
- Even pickup of participants from anywhere in the room.
- Ability to easily rearrange the tables with no compromise in audio quality.
- No visible cables or equipment on the tables or floors.
Coverage of the entire room required 7 microphones and 6 speakers.
The Results
The Customer was delighted with the sound quality and the pick up.
Since then Boeing has installed and additional 17 training rooms with the same approach and equipment.
Deloitte University – Texas
Deloitte was constructing an educational campus on their property in Texas and part of the project consisted of 36 classrooms where they would conduct distant learning via teleconferencing sessions. They engaged Shen Milsom Wilke (a large Audio Visual Consulting Firm) to advise them on design and equipment that would accomplish their objectives.
For the microphone component Shen recommended they listen to different solutions for their evaluation. Several different leading microphones were installed in a demo room to include , amongst others, hanging and wireless units and the CTG ceiling microphone. They conducted a blind test by having the client listen from another room. In a short period Deloitte selected the CTG microphones as the preferred solution due to their clarity and even pick up.
As a result all the rooms were completed using CTG flush mounted ceiling microphones.
The Audio Visual Company – Hawaii
This Company is the largest Integrator in Hawaii and caters primarily to the US Military. They constructed a showroom and installed several different arrays of microphones which they can switch on and off. The only variable in the room was the microphones.
When they had people call in they performed a test whereby the customer was not aware of which microphones they are listening to. In each case to date the customers selected the CTG CM-01 ceiling microphone as the preferred solution.
